Savannah Chrisley Slid Into Boyfriend’s DM’s Over Alleged Murder Plot

Savannah Chrisley and boyfriend Robert Shiver—who went viral after his ex-wife allegedly conspired to have him killed—revealed the DM Savannah sent that sparked their relationship.

Savannah Chrisley’s relationship with Robert Shiver began as many modern romances do. She slid into his DMs.

But where their story differs is that the reality star did so not to score a date with Robert—that came later—but rather to share well wishes after his ex Lindsay Shiver allegedly attempted to have him murdered.

Let them explain.

“I was just on Instagram,” Robert recalled on the Jan. 7 episode of Savannah’s Unlocked podcast, “and all of a sudden this message came through and I looked at it and it was from Savannah Chrisley. And I was like, ‘That name sounds really familiar.’ All the message said was like, ‘Hey, I’ll be praying for you.’”

At which point Savannah explained that her now-boyfriend—who she’s been dating for a year and a half—had gone viral at the time for the alleged murder plot. To sum it up, Lindsay was arrested in Aug. 2023 for allegedly conspiring with two Bahamas natives, one of whom was reported to be her boyfriend, to have Robert killed by a hitman. She pleaded not guilty in Oct. 2023

E! News reached out to attorneys for Lindsay, as well as the Nassau-based lawyer representing the other two defendants, at the time of their arrest for comment but did not hear back. As of Oct. 2024, per Caribbean outlet Loop News, Lindsay’s bail was revoked after she gave an interview on Good Morning America

While Robert claims he responded to Savannah’s message with a simple, “Thanks,” she jokingly shot back, “Oh you’re really going to try to act cool? Don’t even.”

At which point an offscreen voice chimed in, reminding Savannah, “You said, ‘You’re too hot to die,’” causing the Growing Up Chrisley alum to concede, “I did say that at some point.”

From there, the pair continued to exchange messages and eventually wound up meeting during a trip to Boston, where Savannah had traveled to for a Morgan Wallen concert. While staying at the same hotel—where their rooms just happened to be two apart—and meeting up, the pair soon hit it off. So much so that Robert even adjusted his upcoming plans to visit Los Angeles in order to coincide his trip with Savannah’s, just ten minutes after meeting her.

“And then we proceeded to go to the concert,” Savannah explained. “But what was absolutely insane was we get in the car to go to the concert, and I don’t know why, but we get in the very back and, like, immediately we were holding hands.”

She continued, “We go to the concert. We were afraid of photos coming out, so we were not—we kept our social distancing until we didn’t.”

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Back in Sept. 2023, when Savannah confessed during an appearance on Nick Viall’s podcast, “This guy that I’m talking to, his wife just tried to kill. It’s fine,” she also shared what it was about Robert she liked so much.

“He’s a normal person,” she explained. “And I love it.”
