Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole spoke about the impact his relationship with Taylor Swift has had on her and revealed her feelings on the singer.
Kayla Nicole is trying to shake off the Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift chatter.
On the second episode of Fox’s Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test, Jan. 8 the sports reporter revealed to fellow contestants Alana Blanchard and Kyla Pratt that her ex was the three-time Super Bowl winner, adding, “he’s dating Taylor Swift.”
And in her confessional Kayla—who dated the Kansas City Chiefs tight end for five years before their 2022 breakup—got candid about the aftermath of their split.
“Going through a public breakup, just to be frank, it’s been overwhelming,” the 33-year-old explained. “I’ve never experienced anything like it.”
But Kayla emphasized that she has no bad blood with the “Lavender Haze” singer, who began dating Travis in 2023.
“I really like, like, her,” she continued. “I think she’s very talented.”
Later in the episode, Kayla was pulled to the side by Special Forces operatives, who helped her address the headlines and “social media battlefield” she’s faced due to her former relationship with the football player.
“It’s pretty constant and exhausting,” Kayla noted about the backlash. “It doesn’t matter, I could post about the sky being blue and people will have a response about an ex and their new situation. It’s inadvertently affected me to the point where it makes me question my overall value as a person.”
“I think there’s just the comparison and it’s just like on loop,” she continued through tears. “I think I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with it.”
Kayla has previously expressed the challenges she has faced since her split from Travis and his subsequent high-profile relationship with Taylor.
“I would be lying if I said that that level of hate and just online chaos doesn’t impact me,” the model admitted on an October episode of the podcast. “You could go to my most recent post and it’ll be people debating why I’m worthless and how I’ll never be a talented person.”
“I think there’s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people,” she continued. “And it’s unfortunate because I’ve never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash.”
