Bachelor Grant Ellis Teases “Tough” Final Rose Ceremony

As The Bachelor’s Grant Ellis embarks on his journey to find true love, the reality star exclusively told E! News his final decision was far from easy.

This story contains spoilers from the Jan. 27 episode of The Bachelor.

There’s no easy way to say goodbye—just ask Grant Ellis.

And the Bachelor star had to do just that over and over again while filming season 29 of the long-running franchise, a process he admitted he never quite got used to.

“Every rose ceremony, I struggled,” Grant exclusively told E! News. “I struggled to let somebody down, and things only got harder as the season progressed.”

Bachelor Nation will soon find out how the New Jersey native managed to narrow 25 prospective partners down to one perfect match at his final rose ceremony, but his big decision may not have been entirely his own.

“I’m happy with the ending and I’m happy with how things turned out,” Grant continued, though he also cautioned, “There was a tough decision to make and it wasn’t all on my part.”

While the 31-year-old described the women he dated along the way as “so amazing,” he struggled with letting them go for that exact reason.

“They were so wonderful that it made it a lot harder for me as time went on,” he confessed. “Connections were formed, I met families, I heard people’s stories and I really started to develop a bond and cared for these ladies.”

Grant’s final decision might have involved a whole lot of back-and-forth, but fortunately, his choice to give 27-year-old Alexe Godin his first impression rose during the season 29 premiere was a no-brainer.

“Looking back, I wouldn’t have done it any other way,” Grant told E! News. “I would give it to Alexe again. That night was meant for her and I really don’t know if I had any runners-up, honestly.”
