Ariana Grande, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 2025 Oscars, stepped out at the Dolby Theatre March 2 in a floating, bubbly blush dress.
Ariana Grande is topping off award season with the most popular look of all.
Indeed, the Wicked star, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 97th Academy Awards, stepped out at the Dolby Theatre March 2 in an icy-blush Schiaparelli gown. The gorgeous look—reminiscent of the bubble her character Glinda arrives steps down from in Wicked‘s opening scene—didn’t spare any details as its stunning bodice and flowing tule and lace skirt with 190,000 crystal sequins and rhinestones. (See every star on the Oscars 2025 red carpet here.)
And she let her dress do all the talking, keeping her accessories to a choker necklace and her honey blonde hair pulled back into a tight bun.
Ariana’s look is not the only reason to keep an eye on her during film’s biggest night. After all, the Best Supporting Actress nominee is competing in a stacked category alongside Emilia Pérez’s Zoe Saldaña, The Brutalist’s Felicity Jones, A Complete Unknown’s Monica Barbaro and Conclave’s Isabella Rossellini.
Of course, the “positions” singer is just one of the Wicked-ly talented actresses nominated at tonight’s awards. Her costar Cynthia Erivo—who played Elphaba opposite Ariana’s Glinda—earned her own nomination in the Best Actress category. Meanwhile, the film itself has also earned its share of nods in Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Picture and more.
And while tonight, which will include a special performance from the Wicked costars, will be the last time Ariana and Cynthia defy gravity together until Wicked: For Good hits theaters in November, they have certainly held space for part one. Ariana, for her part, has continually emphasized that her role of the Good Witch is a dream come true.
“This music has always brought such comfort and now being able to spend time with it and be trusted with it is the privilege of a lifetime,” Ariana told BBC last year, noting that playing Glinda, “feels like a homecoming.”
Indeed, Ariana has proven to more than just director Jon M. Chu that she and Glinda were simply made for each other. The 31-year-old has nabbed not only a Best Supporting Actress nod at the prestigious award ceremony, but also earned nominations at the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Critics Choice Awards and more.
Naturally, Ariana couldn’t save her tears for another day when it came to all the praise for her performance.
“Picking my head up in between sobs to say thank you so much to @theacademy for this unfathomable recognition,” she wrote on Instagram after Oscars nominations were announced in January. “I cannot stop crying, to no one’s surprise. I’m humbled and deeply honored to be in such brilliant company.”
