Everything Todd and Julie Chrisley Have Done Since Prison Release

On Todd and Julie Chrisley’s to-do list since they were pardoned of their fraud and tax crimes by President Donald Trump: Time with family, shopping for essentials and a hair refresh.

Todd Chrisley will never forget the moment he learned he and his wife Julie Chrisley were being pardoned by President Donald Trump.

It had been nearly two and a half years since the Chrisley Knows Best couple had started their separate prison sentences after being convicted of fraud and tax crimes.

“I had a staff member that came to me and said, ‘You’ve just been pardoned,’” Todd, who along with Julie had pleaded not guilty, recalled during a May 30 press conference. “And I just looked at him. And he says, ‘No really, you’ve been pardoned. It’s in the news.’”

In fact, it was all over the news. However, Todd called his daughter Savannah Chrisley—who’d been fighting for her mom and dad’s release—just to make sure.

“I walked up to call her,” he continued, “and she said, ‘It’s true! It’s true!’”

As for Savannah, she had been walking into Sam’s Club with her 19-year-old brother Grayson on May 27 when she received the call from President Trump notifying them he was signing pardons for their parents.

“I was in such shock. I really didn’t know what to say,” the 27-year-old shared at the press conference. “I started crying. Grayson was with me, and we’re like, ‘Oh my God, it’s happening!’”

Savannah then traveled to the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Fla. to pick up her father, who was released May 28.

“When he walked out, it was just such an overwhelming feeling because the last time I was there I was dropping him off and watching him walk away,” she added. “So I think watching him walk towards me, I was an absolute disaster. We left there, and it was amazing.”

They headed straight home to Nashville so Todd could reunite with his wife Julie, who was released from Federal Medical Center Lexington in Kentucky that same day.

“They both just burst into tears,” their son Chase told Entertainment Tonight May 29 about the reunion. “My dad wrapped his arms around my mom, and I don’t think he’s let go—I don’t think he’ll ever let go.”

And they weren’t the only ones shedding happy tears.

“It was a beautiful moment,” Chase added. “I don’t think it really hit me until they were both home, and I got to see my mom and dad hug each other and embrace each other. We were all hugging each other and crying. It was just a beautiful moment and answered prayers, for sure. I cannot even describe it, the amount of joy that I felt.”

However, Todd admitted it took him a while to fully believe what had just happened.

“I woke up the first morning and I was looking around. I’m like, ‘This is really real. I’m home,’” he said at the press conference. “I was grateful for our family to be all back in the same room, to be together, to share a meal together, to pray together and to know that we’re still in the fight together.”

At this point, the public hadn’t seen Todd and Julie since their release—aside from in a few social media posts in which their faces had been shielded. However, Savannah had hinted her dad did look different—and was now “JACKED.”

“I call it the BOP glow,” Todd joked during the press conference. But in all serious, the reality star noted that, while he was in prison, he “had nothing other to do than to read and to work out. So I worked out every morning at 10:45 until 12 with my buddies there.”

And the results were on display May 29 when he and Savannah made a trip to Nordstrom to stock up on essentials and dodge the press.

“I don’t know why it’s that exciting to watch me buy underwear,” the 56-year-old said at the press conference. “I mean, it’s just not.”

Not wanting the paparazzi to get the first photo of him following his prison release, he and Savannah took matters into their own hands and posted a selfie on Instagram.

“To the paparazzi following us looking to pay your bills…” she captioned the image, “here’s your photo.”

As for Julie, she was also spotted for the first time running errands on May 29, with a photo obtained by Fox News Digital showing her gray roots had grown into her natural brunette tresses and replaced her previously blonde hair.

“My mother’s an angel,” Chase told ET. “She’s still a beautiful woman. Her hair is darker now. I’m like, ‘Mama, we gotta go back platinum blonde.’ And she’s like, ‘I’m not doing that.’”

Not immediately anyway, with a snap posted on Julie on social media June 8 showing the 52-year-old had gone back to blonde.

Aside from a few public appearances—in addition to Todd’s press conference, he crashed an episode of Savannah’s Unlocked podcast—what’s been best for the Chrisleys is enjoying time at home.

“I cooked dinner for my entire family,” Savannah said on the June 3 episode of her podcast. “I made steaks, pasta, salad, potatoes. We had a smorgasbord of things. My parents enjoyed it and loved it.”

They also celebrated Chase’s 29th birthday on June 1, with him noting on Instagram that having his parents home was the “Best birthday gift I could ask for.”

As for how Todd—who, in addition to being dad to Chase, Savannah and Grayson, welcomed daughter Lindsie, 35, and son Kyle, 33, with ex-wife Teresa Terry and adopted Kyle’s daughter Chloe, 12, in 2016 with Julie—is doing these days?

“Dad has not lost his sense of humor,” Savannah said on her podcast. “He is still as spunky as ever. I’m just so grateful that he is home, that mom’s home.”

And Julie hasn’t missed a beat, easily slipping into old routines.

“Mom’s been at home just doing laundry, organizing, spending time with Chloe, me,” Savannah—who got custody of Chloe and Grayson while their parents were in prison—added. “The first morning she was home we laid on my bed and just went through my Instagram and just caught her up on all the posts and videos and just everything that’s gone on since she’s left. It was really cool to see her reactions and catch her up on life.”

Fans will also be able to catch up with the Chrisleys when their new docuseries—currently referred to as The Untitled Chrisleys Project—debuts on Lifetime later this year.

“We are blessed to have our family back, and we’re blessed to be coming back to television,” Todd, who has continued to defend his and Julie’s innocence, said at the press conference, noting they picked up filming as soon as they got home. “Because we do have a much bigger story to tell now than we ever have.”

For now, keep reading to learn more about the Chrisley family.

Todd Chrisley & Julie Chrisley

Todd Chrisley is the patriarch of the Chrisley family.

He was born in Georgia in April 1969 and raised in South Carolina. He and first wife Teresa Terry welcomed daughter Lindsie Chrisley in 1989 and son Kyle Chrisley in 1991 before splitting a few years later. After their breakup, Todd wed Julie Chrisley (born in South Carolina in January 1973) in 1996.

Together, they added to their family with the births of kids Chase Chrisley, Savannah Chrisley and Grayson Chrisley and the adoption of Kyle’s daughter Chloe Chrisley. They also went through challenges, including Julie’s 2012 breast cancer battle (she’s now cancer-free).

As Todd said on the premiere of Chrisley Knows Best—a show that followed the family’s ups and downs as well as their rich lifestyle in Atlanta and later Nashville—he made “95 percent” of their money through his real estate business before entering reality Tv. As for Julie, she was working at a bank when she started dating Todd.

Chrisley Knows Best ran from 2014 to 2023 and led to spin-offs like Growing Up Chrisley and What’s Cooking With Julie? as well as other media ventures like the family members’ podcasts.

In 2022, Todd and Julie were convicted of fraud and tax crimes, and they were originally sentenced to 12 and seven years in prison, respectively (with him being held in Florida and her being behind bars in Kentucky). The couple had pleaded not guilty.

In May 2025, President Donald Trump pardoned Todd and Julie and they were released from prison.

Lindsie Chrisley

Born in September 1989, Lindsie is Todd’s eldest daughter from his marriage to Teresa.

She attended Georgia State University, where she met now-ex husband Will Campbell. They wed in 2012, and she graduated and gave birth to their son Jackson that December. Two years later, Chrisley Knows Best premiered.

Lindsie appeared on the series for five seasons, where viewers saw how Todd and Will didn’t get along. She and Will filed for divorce in 2016, and she left the show in 2017.

In the following years, there was public fallout between her and her family. It wasn’t until 2022 that Lindsie, Todd, Julie and Savannah reunited publicly on crossover episodes of their podcasts.

“God knows I wasn’t prepared for this estrangement,” he said on Chrisley Confessions. “But I will tell you now looking back, we needed this estrangement.”

However, their reunion was short-lived. In a March 2025 episode of her podcast The Southern Tea, Lindsie said she hasn’t seen her dad “in quite some time.” The following month, she confirmed she’s also estranged from her siblings.

“We can live in the same space doing the same things and not necessarily agree or align and it’s no hate, it’s no ill will,” Lindsie said on Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra’s podcast, Cate & Ty Break It Down in April 2025.We just don’t serve each other in each other’s lives.”

But after Julie and Todd were pardoned in May 2025, Lindsie wrote on Instagram Stories, “With God all things are possible.”

Kyle Chrisley

Kyle, born in August 1991, is Todd’s eldest son from his former marriage to Teresa. In November 2012, he became father to daughter Chloe, whose mother is his ex Angela Johnson. But in 2016, Todd and Julie adopted Chloe.

While Kyle appeared on only the first season of Chrisley Knows Best (aside from a brief cameo in 2021), his past arrests and rocky relationship with his family (which involved them being estranged and reuniting at various points in time) continued to make headlines. He’s also spoken candidly about his mental health journey and battle with addiction, sharing in a 2019 Facebook post that he’s sober.

In 2021, Kyle wed Ashley Nelson and became a father to her kids Haiden and Mackenzie.

As for where Kyle stands with Todd and Julie, he expressed his hope to reconnect with them after their return from prison.

“I know they can’t wait to get home and just be with family,” he told E! News in May 2025, “and I’m going to remain hopeful that another reconciliation is possible.”

Chase Chrisley

Chase is the first child Todd welcomed with wife Julie, arriving in June 1996.

In addition to appearing on Chrisley Knows Best with his parents and siblings, he co-starred on Growing Up Chrisley with his sister Savannah from 2019 to 2022.

Chase was previously engaged to Emmy Medders. But after breaking up and getting back together, they officially parted ways in 2023. Later that year, he began dating Jodi Laine Fournerat. Fans can often find photos of the pair on his Instagram along with snaps of him and grandma Nanny Faye Chrisley.

After Chase’s parents entered prison, he spoke about how he and his siblings came together.

“We’ve definitely gotten a lot closer,” he told Extra in 2023. “When you get hit with something like this, I feel like a lot of people either separate and go their own ways or they cling together, which is how we were raised. We’ve clung together and we’re still fighting.”

Chase had his own run-in with the law in January 2025, when he was arrested in Atlanta on a simple battery charge for allegedly becoming “really drunk” and slapping a bar manager after being asked to leave, according to police records obtained by E! News. His lawyers told People that “this incident has been entirely blown out of proportion.”

“He did not assault anyone,” they added. “Chase was trying to close out his tab and leave. We will be independently investigating the situation.”

Chase is also an entrepreneur, launching a candle brand and roofing company.

Savannah Chrisley

Todd and Julie welcomed daughter Savannah in August 1997.

Early in her career, she competed in the pageant world—winning Miss Tennessee Teen USA in 2016 and vying for the Miss Teen USA crown later that year. However, her time in the limelight didn’t end there as she went on to appear on several reality and competition shows, including Chrisley Knows Best, Growing Up Chrisley, The Masked Singer and Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. Savannah is also a real estate agent in Tennessee, the founder of Good Girl RX and host of the podcast Unlocked.

In her personal life, Savannah got engaged to hockey player Nic Kerdiles in 2019. However, they broke up the following year, and he died after a motorcycle crash in 2023. She later dated Robert Shiver; however, she confirmed their split in April 2025 after about two years together.

Savannah obtained custody of her brother Grayson and sister Chloe while Julie and Todd were in prison and advocated for her parents’ release.

“72600019 and 72601019: These may be just numbers to you, but to me, they’re my whole heart,” she said at the 2024 Republican National Convention. “These numbers are my parents’ identification numbers in our federal prison system.”

After Trump pardoned Julie and Todd and they were released from prison, Savannah posted footage from their return home, including one that read “Reunited and it feels so good.”

Grayson Chrisley

Grayson is Todd and Julie’s youngest son.

Born in May 2006, Grayson entered the spotlight when Chrisley Knows Best premiered eight years later. He’s now a student at the University of Alabama—and yes, he gets recognized on campus.

“It’s been insane,” he said on a February 2025 episode of Savannah’s podcast Unlocked. “It’s more than it’s ever happened here.”

After Julie and Todd went to prison, Savannah gained custody of Grayson and Chloe.

“I’m not their mom. I’m not their dad. I’m their sister and I get to love and guide them through life,” the podcaster wrote on Instagram in July 2023. “Being a bonus parent is TOUGH…no one could ever add up to their parents. But these kiddos have shown me so much love, patience, grace, understanding, and appreciation! Helping to raise these two kiddos is the hardest but most rewarding job I will ever have.”

And Savannah’s bond with Grayson grew even stronger.

“Many people look at our situation and think, ‘She saved him,’” she wrote on Instagram for his 18th birthday in May 2024, “but little do they know… YOU saved ME.”

Chloe Chrisley

Todd and Julie started out as Chloe’s grandparents after his son Kyle fathered the child with ex Angela Johnson in November 2012. However, they adopted her four years later.

“My heart!” Julie wrote on Instagram in February 2018. “This child brings so much happiness to our family. What did we do without you?”

Fans watched Todd and Julie raise Chloe—or CoCo as her family calls her—on Chrisley Knows Best. But after the couple entered prison, Savannah took over as her guardian.

“Watching her grow has been the biggest blessing of my life… she has QUITE the personality!” Savannah wrote on Instagram for Chloe’s 11th birthday in November 2023. “I wish I had her humor. I wish I had her carefree spirit. I wish I had her heart. She is everything that I hope to be one day! There is not a day goes by to where she doesn’t reach me something new. Because of her… we are all better people! I love you sweet girl! KEEP SHINING! NEVER GIVE UP! And ALWAYS KNOW… I AM HERE!”

After it was announced that Trump was pardoning Todd and Julie, Savannah shared Chloe’s reaction

“Chloe I think is still in shock, and she doesn’t want to get her hopes up because she feels like something bad’s going to happen,” she said on a May 2025 episode of News Nation. “But I’m excited to be going to get my dad and bringing him home to her.”

“Nanny” Faye Chrisley

Faye Chrisley—a.k.a. “Nanny”—is Todd’s mom.

“I am blessed beyond measure that God chose you to be my mother,” he wrote on Instagram for Mother’s Day in 2021. “I love you more than you will ever know and you fill my heart with love, hope, faith and confidence.”

Born in September 1944, Nanny grew up in South Carolina. She married army veteran Gene Chrisley, and they welcomed sons Todd, Randy Chrisley and Derrick Chrisley, the latter of whom died when he was a baby. Gene also passed away in 2012.

While on Chrisley Knows Best, Nanny captured fans’ hearts with her humor, fun times with sister Frances (who died in 2022), dating adventures and advice. And whether she was hitting the casino, raising a glass of wine or spending time with family, she proved to viewers she knows how to have a good time.

However, Nanny has gone through hard times too. In addition to Todd and Julie’s convictions, Nanny was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2021. But two years later, she shared she had overcome her health battle.

“I’m in remission, thank God,” Nanny said on a 2023 episode of Lindsie’s podcast The Southern Tea, per People. “I’ve been out moving around, doing the best I can.”

Doing the best she can has been Nanny’s approach to life in general.

“The world don’t always give you a good deck of cards to play with, so you play with them the best you can,” she said on Savannah’s podcast Unlocked. “You get up, brush yourself off and keep going.”
