Over 25 years after Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton’s global scandal, the former White House intern reflected on how she truly felt during their affair.

Monica Lewinsky is getting candid about her affair with Bill Clinton.

Nearly three decades after the former White House intern was involved in an office romance with the then-president, she shared insight into the global scandal.

“It was 22 to 24-year-old young woman’s love,” she told host Elizabeth Day on the June 25 episode of her How to Fail podcast. “The way we see love evolves with every relationship we have.”

“I think there was some limerence there and all sort of other things,” she continued of her relationship with Clinton, 78, who married Hillary Clinton in 1975, “but that’s how I saw it then. I think it was also an abuse of power.”

E! News has reached out to Clinton’s reps for comment but has not heard back.

Indeed, once their relationship ended with the second-ever impeachment of a sitting president, Lewinsky was labelled a “bimbo” and became the object of public shame, disdain and ridicule for years to follow.

Even so, the 51-year-old made it clear that, while she was referred to the internship program by a family friend, she earned her position all on her own.

“My very first job out of college was working in the White House,” she explained. “I don’t think that that’s the kind of trajectory that someone thinks then 10, 12 years later, that person’s not going to be able to get hired.”

“Then I worked in the Pentagon as well and travelled the world with my boss—who was the Pentagon spokesman—and we travelled with the Secretary of Defense,” she continued. “I’m by no means a genius, by no means going to be the cream of the crop, but I wasn’t a bimbo. I wasn’t a dumb bimbo.”

But despite knowing her own worth, Lewinsky admitted that it was a “big struggle” to cope with being portrayed as the naïve “other woman” by the public.

“I think that was a narrative that was crafted and put out by the White House,” she admitted, “so I think that mantle was picked up by a lot of women.”

And having been ruthlessly “torn apart” for her mistakes at the time, Lewinsky recently emphasized that she should have been better protected.

“I think that the right way to handle a situation like that would have been to say it was nobody’s business,” she told host Alex Cooper during a February episode of Call Her Daddy. “And to resign. Or to find a way of staying in office that was not lying and not throwing a young person who was just starting out in the world under the bus.”

“At the same time, I’m hearing myself say that, and it’s like, we’re also talking about the most powerful office in the world,” she continued. “So I don’t want to be naïve, either.”

Not all of these confessions are amusing.

Eight years after sharing in an ELLE article that she had been battling a rare type of bone cancer—her fake diagnosis even inspiring a storyline on Grey’s Anatomy—show writer Elisabeth Finch admitted in December it was all a ruse.

“I told a lie when I was 34 years old and it was the biggest mistake of my life. It just got bigger and bigger and bigger and got buried deeper and deeper inside me,” Elisabeth told The Ankler newsletter Dec. 7, adding, “I’ve never had any form of cancer.”

Summed up Finch, who was placed on administrative leave from the ABC medical drama before eventually resigning, said, “What I did was wrong. Not okay. F–ked up. All the words.”

Beauty is pain, but Kim Kardashian might be able to stomach it.

Telling The New York Times the lengths she would go to for a more youthful appearance, the reality star cracked that she was willing to try just about anything.

“If you told me that I literally had to eat poop every single day and I would look younger, I might,” she said in June. “I just might.”

In a July 2022 interview with Allure, Kim said she was “kind of joking” about the comment, though the idea didn’t seem too terrible.

“But now that I think about it,” Kim added, “I would probably eat s–t if someone told me, ‘If you eat this bowl of poop every single day, you’ll look younger.’”

How much could she make room for? “Maybe just a bite,” she told the outlet. “I don’t think I can do a whole bowl.”
