Though Trisha Paytas and her husband Moses Hacmon settled on the name Aquaman Moses Paytas-Hacmon, the couple nearly gave him an aquatic name inspired by one of his poems.

Trisha Paytas nearly dove into different waters when choosing her son’s name.

While announcing that she had given birth to her and Moses Hacmon’s third child, a son named Aquaman Moses Paytas-Hacmon, the YouTuber revealed that she and her water-loving husband were circling another name inspired by one of his poems.

“I will say my number one that we were so close to naming the baby is not a movie poster but I loved it so much,” Trisha said on the July 22 episode of her Just Trish podcast. “It’s Moses’ poem Water Snake.”

And as the 37-year-old—who also shares daughters Malibu Barbie, 2, and Elvis, 13 months, with Moses—explained, the name would have made sense for multiple reasons.

“I love ‘Water Snake,’ It’s the Year of the Snake, Moses is a snake,” Trisha continued. “We love water. I loved [the movie] Water World. I loved the name Water.” 

Plus, she added, “At the end of the day, Moses loves water, I’ve adopted his philosophy.” 

And though Trisha and Moses also considered the names Paper Mate, Aladdin and Moses Jr., they ultimately fell in love with the name Aquaman.

“I’ve been wearing Aquaman T-shirts for years, since 2017 when the first Justice League came out,” Trisha shared. “I have gone to so many Comic Cons for Aquaman. And I really fell in love when we rewatched Aquaman.”

In fact, the influencer “watched all the Aquamans,” including the cartoon, in order to “find out every single piece” of lore that related to her son—and the list of connections is as deep as the ocean. 

“He’s of two heritages, like our baby,” she said. “He connects the land and sea, which is Moses’ order at Benihana. He can talk telepathically to fish. He’s also blonde and brunette, which—plot twist: our Aquaman has blonde hair.”
