Emilie Kiser Breaks Silence on 3-Year-Old Son Trigg’s Tragic Death

Emilie Kiser spoke out publicly for the first time three months after her son Trigg Kiser drowned at the age of 3 in her family’s pool.

Emilie Kiser has spoken out amid an unimaginable loss.

Three months after her and husband Brady Kiser’s 3-year-old son Trigg Kiser drowned in the family’s pool, Emilie shared a message to social media, noting it took her some time as “loss of this magnitude feels impossible to put into words.”

“Trigg is our baby and our best friend,” she wrote in her August 28 post. “The light and spirit he brought into this world was bright, pure. joyful, and undeniable. We miss him every second of every day and continuing forward often feels unbearable. I never thought we would experience grief in this way or the pain of losing him so suddenly. It’s a pain, heartache, and void that no family should ever have to endure.”

Emilie—who is mom to 5-month-old son Theodore with Brady—also shared a heartbreaking admission about the guilt she feels over Trigg’s passing.

“I take full accountability as Trigg’s mother, and I know I should have done more to protect him,” she wrote. “One of the hardest lessons I carry is that a permanent pool fence could have saved his life, and it’s something I will never overlook again.”

In sharing her experience, she hopes “Trigg’s story will help prevent other children and families from suffering the same loss.”

But while navigating the devastating tragedy, Emilie confirmed she and her family have been well supported.

“To our family: we would not be getting through this without you,” she wrote. “The support you have given us, the unconditional love, and the way you show up is something we will never be able to repay or thank you enough for. We truly have the best and most supportive friends and family who have, quite literally, carried us through this and continue to do so daily.”

The influencer also thanked her followers for the “outpouring of love” and support they’ve shown her in the months since Trigg’s death.

Emilie—who filed legal paperwork to have the details of Trigg’s death kept from the public earlier this year—also detailed how this experience has changed how she plans to navigate her online presence in the future.

“When I started on social media in 2021 as a new mom, my goal was to connect with other moms and find a community,” she wrote. And while she said she found that “and so much more,” Emilie noted, “I now have seen through this tragedy how relationships online lack boundaries, especially in protecting children’s privacy. Moving forward, I will be establishing more boundaries with what I share online.”

While the 26-year-old—whose husband Brady was not charged in relation to Trigg’s death—expressed she hopes to share more about her grief journey in the future, for now, she concluded with, “All I can say is thank you for the love, compassion, patience and space you’ve given us to grieve.”

She added, “I am more grateful for it than can ever be expressed.”
