Dakota Johnson’s Latest See-Through Look Is Her Most Daring Yet

Dakota Johnson made jaws drop when she stepped out in a totally sheer dress at the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women dinner in New York City Sept. 11. See the racy look.

Dakota Johnson is rocking fifty shades of sheer.

The Materialists star stepped out in a jaw-dropping take on the naked dress for the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women dinner in New York City Sept. 11.

For the outing, Dakota donned a floor-length sheer black Gucci gown with lace detailing that barely covered her skin underneath. And to keep her—er—private areas covered, she paired the dress with a matching bra and underwear set.

As for her accessories? The 35-year-old let her head-turning fashion steal the show, opting to style her hair in a classic updo, sporting a tennis necklace and donning coordinating silver earrings.

Of course, Dakota wasn’t the only star to earn a few double takes at the Kering Foundation event. Lauren Sánchez Bezos made her first red carpet appearance since tying the knot with Jeff Bezos in June for the occasion. Plus, Colman Domingo, Winnie Harlow, Demi Moore and Adrien Brody all posed in haute couture ‘fits for the cameras as well.

And while it may be her most risqué fashion statement, this isn’t the first time Dakota has dazzled in a sheer look as of late, either. Last month, the Fifty Shades of Grey alum stunned in a black see-through long-sleeved midi dress while stepping out in New York City.

For Dakota, experimenting with her clothes is a no-brainer—it’s her hair that she’s less willing to switch up.

“I’m like obviously physically attached to my hair, but I’m very emotionally attached to it [too],” Dakota told Etalk in an Aug. 20 interview. “I should probably change things up, but I don’t think I will.”

Another aspect of her life she’s not looking to change anytime soon? Her career path with making romance movies. As Dakota—who is set to star in the upcoming Colleen Hoover romance movie adaptation Verity—put it, “I’m just so interested in love and love stories.”

She added, “It’s so much a part of our human development and our journey.”
