Dancing With the Stars said goodbye to not one, but two couples in the first double elimination of season 34. See who went home during week two.
Sadly, it was time for two couples to boogie off the dance floor.
Dancing With the Stars had its first double eliminations during the Sept. 23 episode with hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro breaking the news to the stars and their partners.
By the end of the dances, between the judges scores and viewers’ votes, Corey Feldman, Hilaria Baldwin and Baron Davis found themselves at the bottom of the pack. Ultimately, however, it was duos Corey and Jenna Johnson and Baron and Britt Stewart who were the first pairings to officially exit the dance floor, with Hilaria and Gleb Savcheko dancing into next week.
Both Baron and Corey expressed their disappointment that they couldn’t help bring their pro partners a win. As Corey said of Jenna, “I feel really terrible because she deserved better. She deserves to be the champ every year in my book.”
Baron, meanwhile, expressed his gratitude to Britt for helping kick him into high gear. “I haven’t been coached in a while,” the NBA alum quipped. “So to get off my butt was awesome.”
Four celebrities did receive the highest score of the evening—a 22 out of 30—from judges Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba, who made her return to the ballroom after missing the season’s premiere.
Those lucky couples were Robert Irwin and Witney Carson, Olympian Jordan Chiles and partner Ezra Sosa, as well as both Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars and their partners, Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas plus Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik.
The high scores mean Robert and Witney have claimed the top of the leader board two weeks in a row—a fact that was hard to digest after their first performance.
“That’s crazy,” Witney gushed to E! News after the premiere Sept. 16, before adding to Robert, “The fact that you’re competing against actual dancers and you’re keeping up and you’re at the top is really cool. Like that is a testament to how hard you worked.”
In fact, the pair are such a good team that Witney has taken it upon herself to help the 21-year-old in his love life—with the help of his sister Bindi Irwin.
“Submit your applications via DM and I will forward them to Bindi,” Witney joked to E! News after the week two episode. “And then, then we will see about the American tourist.”
