Selena Gomez revisited character Alex Russo alongside David Henrie again in the second season of the Disney+ sequel series Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, as seen in an exclusive E! News clip.

Indeed, Selena Gomez is set to make another appearance on Wizards Beyond Waverly Place alongside former costar David Henrie in the upcoming shocking two-part finale for the second season of the Disney+ show, which premieres Oct. 8.
However, an E! News exclusive clip from the finale episode gives a glimpse at what to expect of Selena’s third appearance on the series, following her two cameos in the first season. In the clip, Russo siblings Alex (Selena) and Justin (David) are joined by Justin’s wife Giada (Mimi Gianopulos) as they visit the Gossip Stone (Harvey Guillén) to investigate who could possibly see the Russo family as their enemies.
As she explains in the episode, “We’re trying to figure out if you know anything about who could be after us.”
And when the stone asks what Alex could have done to provoke someone, Selena pulls out her character’s signature tongue and cheek persona, adding, “Nothing! I mean, that we know of…or we’re willing to admit to.”
However, when Justin clarifies that they are, in fact, the infamous Russo family, the Gossip Stone goes on to list several of their Wizards of Waverly Place rivals, including Justin’s WizTech rival Jerko Phoenix (J. Evan Bonifant) from season one, the Evilini family from season one and Angel of Darkness Gorog (John Rubinstein) from season four.
After hearing the exhaustive list, Alex deadpans, “Wow, we’ve made a lot of people mad.”
Although Selena, who is a producer on the show alongside her onscreen brother, has only returned to her iconic character a handful of times, she has emphasized that it is not for lack of wanting that she is not a full-time cast member on Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.
As she previously admitted on an Aug. 7 appearance on Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast, “I feel like I am Alex.”
“I relate to her so much,” Selena continued. “Stepping into Alex has been such a pleasure. I don’t know how to explain it. I know it’s me living in a nostalgic period, but at the same time, I loved doing that.”
But Selena isn’t the only member of the family who feels that way. David, who is a regular on the new show, felt like no time had passed when stepping back into his character more than a decade later.
“It was like we continued the show from the past 13 years,” he told People last year. “It was like we hadn’t missed a beat.”
