Paris Jackson Received $65 Million From Michael Jackson’s Estate

Months after Paris Jackson called out “premium payouts” made to lawyers in charge of her late father Michael Jackson’s estate, a new filing revealed she has received $65 million in inheritance.

Paris Jackson received a thrilling sum from her father Michael Jackson’s estate.

Months after the 27-year-old filed a petition against law firms in charge of the “Thriller” singer’s wealth over their “premium payouts,” the lawyers responded, revealing the estimated amount Paris has been given from the estate in the process.

In a filing made to the Superior Court of California Oct. 9 and obtained by E! News, the attorneys allege that Paris “has received roughly $65 million from the Estate in benefits,” adding, “She would have never received that had the Executors followed a typical playbook for an Estate like this one in July 2009.”

Indeed, the filing alleges that Paris only received such a large sum because of the restructuring of the estate executed by the attorneys.

E! News has reached out to reps for Paris, as well as her father’s estate, regarding the latest filing but has not yet heard back.

A previous July 15 filing obtained by E! News revealed that Michael was in over $500 million in debt at the time of his passing in July 2009, noting that the attorneys’ payouts were made because they were able to turn around the late singer’s finances and turn it into such a powerful estate.

It is not unusual and in fact is quite common, in the entertainment/music business for attorneys with the level of skills, experience, and relationships,” the filing read at the time, “to receive compensation in addition to their hourly rate fee payment.”

Paris—who, along with younger brothers Prince Jackson, 28, and Bigi “Blanket” Jackson, 23, is a beneficiary of her father’s estate—filed her petition against the law firms in June, alleging that her father’s estate had “failed to provide adequate responses” as to why $625,000 was allocated as “premium payouts” to three separate law firms back in 2018 for unrecorded attorney time.

“Even worse, these payments appear, at least in part, to consist of lavish gratuities bestowed upon already well-compensated counsel,” the filing, previously obtained by E! News, read. “Worse still, at least two of these law firms already have received their respective Premium Payment in full, in violation of the Court’s order allowing only partial payment of attorneys’ fees until Court approval is obtained.”
