Sofia Richie—who announced she’s pregnant with her and husband Elliot Grainge’s second baby—has formed a special bond with her daughter Eloise over the past 16 months.
Sofia Richie is feeling extra rich these days.
The model shared that she and husband Elliot Grainge are expecting their second child together, posting a photo of her pregnant belly on Instagram Oct. 16.
“On my way to launch these babies,” Sofia wrote, seemingly referring to both her little one on the way and her creative “baby”—her new clothing brand SRG, which she tagged as @srgatelier.
In the photo, Sofia—who already shares daughter Eloise, 16 months, with Elliot—pulled up her chocolate polka dot zip-up to reveal her bare baby bump, completing her maternity fashion with black trousers, diamond earrings and a sleek bun hairstyle.
In fact, her life as a mom has been a big source of inspiration for Sofia, who explained how taking care of her “little lady” Eloise affected some of the choices for her upcoming line.
“I walked through all the different stages of my life,” she told W magazine in an interview published Oct. 16. “Being at home with my daughter, going out with girlfriends, working.”
At the time, the 27-year-old again likened SRG to “one of my babies.”
All in all, motherhood has been a big learning experience for Sofia, whose parents are Lionel Richie and Diane Alexander.
“I’ve learned more in the past six months than I have in my entire life,” she told Vogue during her first pregnancy. “And also just like what the female body is capable of.”
“Every week brings new things,” she continued, “whether it’s hormonal shifts or expansion—there’s just so much our bodies go through, and it’s so interesting to experience it all.”
And once Eloise arrived, Sofia soaked up every moment big and small, culminating in a lavish first birthday party for her little girl in May.
“I didn’t realize her first birthday was going to be such a mix of emotion for me,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “On one hand it’s the most amazing beautiful milestone. On the other hand I look back and realize those tiny little moments are something I’ll never get back.”
Still, Sofia explained, “Watching her grow has been a gift.”
“My greatest achievement will ALWAYS be her,” she wrote. “Elliot and I couldn’t love anything in this life more. I don’t know what I did to deserve my little buggie, but all I know is my heaven is right here on earth with her.”
