This year at the Central Florida Pen Show, I met up with Anderillium Inks. They debuted their new Lchthyoformes Series with eight new colors to brighten your writing with. I decided to check out their first purple ink, Betta Fish Purple, and a new blue hue, Swordfish Blue. My first impressions of both inks were how nice they flowed from my pen and how they wrote on the page.
Anderillium is known for its eco-friendly inks, and its nature-themed series ties into that perfectly. You won’t find any shimmer inks in their lines. They keep their inks rooted in nature and in the creatures that inspire them. Everything from their process to their packaging backs up those values. The bottles and labels are simple and reflect the creatures they embody with the colors inside. It’s as if Mother Nature had a hand in it herself.
The inks in the Lchthyoformes Series take after the creatures they are named after and include:
The standout inks in the series are the Betta Fish Purple, Piranha Red, and Swordfish Blue. They are the brightest of the bunch and really take on the colors of their creature namesakes.
The subtle colors in the series are Whale Shark Grey and Anglerfish Deep. These I would use if you don’t want anything too bright or catchy but still want a stunning color to complement your writing or art.
I’ve tested these inks on a few different types of paper and found my favorite to be Tomoe River (to be fair, I’m biased because Tomoe River paper is my favorite of all the ones I’ve ever tested). My other favorite is the Michael’s Craft Store dotted-lined notebook. There was almost no feathering or bleed-through on these papers.
I would say that the personality of these inks is elegant and practical. The colors are bold but in a way that feels professional. I think these shine in everyday writing where you want to use something unique, but not something that will draw attention. They work well for art when you want something flat but beautiful in its own way.
Anderillium is a brand I’ve come to trust for their reliability, eco-friendly nature, and practical use in my writing. I know I can count on them to come through (but not show through) when I’m doing my day-to-day writing, and they have colors that really pop when I want to stand out from the crowd. I appreciate the no-nonsense bottles that make them easy to store.
