Find the Correct Circuit Breaker with the KAIWEETS KT301P

If you have ever had to do some electrical work in your home, you might know how difficult it can be to find the right circuit breaker to shut over power to specific outlets. In the past I have had one of my children stand next to the outlet with a lamp plugged into it while I flip circuit breakers waiting for them to yell out to me that I found the correct one. However, now I can find the correct circuit breaker by myself with KAIWEETS’ new circuit breaker finder, the KT301P.

KAIWEETS KT301P circuit breaker finder comes with the following:

Finding a specific circuit breaker with the KT301P consists of a two step process. First turn on the outlet tester transmitter by pressing the power button and then plug it into the outlet you want to locate. The screen should show that there is power to the outlet by displaying the voltage. Next go to the circuit breaker panel and turn on the circuit breaker finder. Starting at the top, point the tip at the first circuit breaker and slowing move past all of the breakers. This is letting the finder learn the panel. Expect the finder to beep during the process. Once it has learned the breakers, now start the process over and go back over the breakers. The finder will beep and the display meter will show the breaker for the circuit to which the outlet tester is plugged into. Flip the indicated breaker and then go back to the outlet and use the outlet tester to ensure that there is no electricity going to that outlet.

The KT301P can also be used for other uses. The outlet tester can be used to test GFCI outlets. Plug it in to the outlet and press the TEST button on the tester. This should cause the breaker on the GFCI outlet to trip and the display on the tester will read ‘PAS’ to indicate that the outlet is working correctly. The tester can also be used to test other regular outlets to ensure they are wired correctly. For testing a circuit that goes to a light socket, plug the outlet tester into the light socket adapter and screw it into the light socket. The kit also includes an alligator clip adapter for testing bare wires

The circuit breaker finder also has a Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) function that can be used to detect voltage in a wire without touching the bare wires. Hold down the Reset/NCV button until NCV appears on the screen. Now place the tip of the finder near the object being tested. If the voltage is live, the finder will beep and the display turn red while showing the strength of the signal. The finder also has an LED light for using it in dark situations. Just press the power/light button to activate. it.

The KAIWEETS KT301P is available from the KAIWEETS website and sells for $70. However, KAIWEETS has provided GeekDad readers with a code, KTP15, that will save you 15% on all products sold on their website. Plus shipping is free. It can also be purchased from the KAIWEETS store on Amazon and is currently selling for about $56.

KAIWEETS has been making electrical tools for 16 years. They offer a variety of products, including measuring equipment for electrical testing, temperature and automotive testers, soldering irons, stud finders, and even hand tools such as pliers and screwdrivers. I have reviewed a couple of their products in the past: the smart soldering iron kit and a thermal imaging camera. Therefore when I was offered an opportunity to review their circuit breaker tester, I was excited to do so. I have needed such a device for a long time but never got around to purchasing one. Now that I have been using the KT301P, I wish I would have had it sooner. I like to do my own electrical work around the house. As the house is getting older, I am having to replace outlets or checking GFCI outlets. The ability to ensure I am turning off the correct breaker before working on an outlet without guessing and checking saves a lot of time and ensures my safety. I can also use the outlet tester to ensure I wired an outlet correctly as well.

I am very impressed with out how easy the KT301P is to use. After reading the directions once, I was able to use the finder and transmitter to scan the circuit breaker box and find the correct circuit on the first try. After that I went around the house checking other outlets as well as testing all of the GFCI outlets. I also like how the outlet tester shows the N, L, and E (neutral, live, and earth) diagram for correct wiring. As with all of the other KAIWEETS products I have used, the quality is great and the directions in the manual are clear and easy to follow. The the product also stores nicely in the included case, which makes it convenient for keeping everything together as well as for taking it with you. If you like to do electrical work at your home, then I recommend the KAIWEETS KT301P circuit breaker finder. You don’t have to be an electrician to use it and it will make your work easier and safer. It also makes a great gift for a handyperson.
