Whitney Decker Breaks Silence After Murder of Her 3 Daughters

After her three daughters were killed—Travis Decker has been charged with kidnapping and killing Paityn, Evelyn and Olivia—their mom Whitney Decker spoke out on the tragedy.

Whitney Decker is honoring her girls.

The mom of late daughters Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5, shared a glimpse into their deep bond during an emotional tribute as the hunt for their father Travis Decker continues.

During a June 20 memorial service, she told the crowd, “You all look beautiful, and I know Evy would have loved to ooh and ah over all your outfits,” adding that Paityn would’ve complimented “each and every one of you … She did that for everyone, whether it was at a grocery store or at school or with me.”

Since she and Travis—who has been charged with murdering the three girls—divorced in 2022, “there were a lot of feelings flowing through my house,” she said. “Some of the feelings were easier to talk about than others. Through the girls’ time … with some incredible therapists, we discovered the ‘three feelings.’ At night, during their bedtime routine, I would ask them what three feelings they felt during that day.”

“For Paityn, she always had more than three, consistently eager to tell me about every minute of her day,” Whitney shared. “She was always interrupting her sisters to make sure I knew every single one. For Ev, we would talk about her feelings one-on-one right at bedtime because she wasn’t always ready to share them with her sisters.”

With Olivia being so young, Whitney explained that they were “still working on how to describe her feelings,” but that “one was always ‘happy.’”

Her daughters ensured Whitney shared her feelings, too. She emphasized their daily ritual allowed them to connect “when the world slowed down.”

“I believe doing this with them allowed them to come into the world with open hearts and kindness,” she added in her tearful speech. “I truly hope that the legacy of the girls’ lives lives in everyone’s heart forever. They were incredible.”

As Whitney and her loved ones mourn the death of Paityn, Evelyn and Olivia—who, according to Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, died of suffocation—authorities are still searching for Travis.

The former Army soldier was the last to see the girls during a regularly scheduled custody visit May 30. When he didn’t return their children to Whitney’s home by 8 p.m. and her phone calls went to voicemail, she called the police. The girls were ultimately found June 2 near Travis’ abandoned truck at a Washington state campground.

Authorities, including the US Marshals Service and the Washington Army National Guard, continue their search efforts. Sheriff Mike Morrison shared during a June 12 press conference that they are “closing in” on the fugitive, who has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of kidnapping.
