The Labubu is the hottest toy of 2025, and the net worth of Wang Ning—the founder of the company Pop Mart, which distributes the toy—is proof.
Labubu is securing the bag—in more ways than one.
As sales of the toy continue to skyrocket, Mart’s Wang Ning is cashing in on a staggering, 10-digit profit.
Ning—who is the founder, chairman and CEO of Pop Mart International Group, the company behind Labubu—has a jaw-dropping net worth estimated to be $22.1 billion, according to Forbes. And that number has only increased in the last year, with Ning’s net worth estimated to be $1.8 billion at the end of 2024.
And then came Blackpink’s Lisa, who revealed that the nine-toothed, furry monsters were her “secret obsession.”
“If I fly to New York, I go to Miami, I try to find Pop Mart there,” she said a 2024 video interview with Vanity Fair, “Paris, everywhere. Kind of like finding treasure.”
Cue Labubu mania with celebrities like Rihanna, Madonna, Kim Kardashian, Dua Lipa and even David Beckham leaning into the obsession.
That, and the appeal of the “Blind Box” packaging, which keeps the Labubu’s identity a secret until unboxed.
“Blind boxes typically come in series that shows a collection,” the company’s website notes, “some figurines are rarer to find than others, these are referred to as ‘secret,’ ‘hidden’ or ‘chase’ figures.”
And Ning isn’t the only reaping the benefits of success. As head of licensing for Pop Mart in North America Emily Brough revealed earlier this year, the Labubu generated more than $419 million in revenue in 2024, a 726 percent increase from the year before.
“The passion and demand we have seen for Labubu over the last few months, and most recently with the Into Energy release, has surpassed our expectations!” Brough wrote in an email to NBC News in April. “It’s been wonderful to see the impact our mischievous and lovable Labubu is having globally.”
