Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday-Inspired Style Will Give You Full Body Chills

Not only has Jenna Ortega been killing it as Wednesday‘s titular Wednesday Addams (the second season of Netflix’s series dropped this August), she’s been sporting some truly to-die-for fashions.

It’s creepy and it’s kooky; mysterious and spooky. But we’d argue that Jenna Ortega‘s Wednesday-inspired fashions aren’t even close to all together ooky.

Take the strapless gown—designed by Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing—she donned at the 2025 Met Gala that certainly measured up when it came to the annual event’s “Tailored to You” dress code.

“Crafted entirely from metallic rulers,” the fashion house announced in a May 5 Instagram post, it served as “a nod to the instruments of patternmakers.”

And save for a few notable exceptions of the pastel variety, the California native’s red carpet looks have been a full-on salute to her most famous role.

“I’ve always respected goth culture,” the star, marking her 23rd birthday Sept. 27, told Vogue in 2023. “I’ve always had a darker sense of humor, but I never felt like I was able to express that. Now I feel like I can embrace those qualities in myself.”

It all started with that first deep cut, the formerly long-stranded star embracing an edgier shag for her titular role in the Netflix series.

Though she’d been “really attached” to her lengthy locks, she admitted to the mag, “Changing it encouraged me to be more adventurous; to experiment and be more creative in that way.”

The result: A slew of ebony-hued, decidedly tailored fashions from the likes of Versace, Saint Laurent, Valentino and Jean Paul Gaultier.

Previously, she admitted, “I was such a people pleaser; I was so desperate to be whatever I felt people wanted me to be.” As such, she continued, “I felt like the traditional beauty standards really affected me; they didn’t always resonate with me.”

But now the Death of a Unicorn star is pulling focus in all the best ways, opting for a barely there bejeweled Givenchy by Sarah Burton number when presenting at the 2025 Emmys.

“I definitely feel like I have a bit more Gothic taste than I did when I was a teenager,” the Stuck in the Middle alum mused to Harper’s Bazaar in May. “I’ve always been into dark things or been fascinated by them, but I was a Disney kid, and the whole thing is being bubbly and kind and overly sweet.”

These days, however, her raison d’être is exploring roles that are “older and bolder and different,” she told the mag, noting that when it comes to her parts, “I want to be able to line up all of my girls and see something different in all of them.”

As for her red carpet fashions, they remain to die for. Check out all of her stunning looks.
