Rise and shine! Kylie Jenner is making her acting debut.
The Kardashians star has been cast in a new A24 movie starring Charli XCX called The Moment, the singer confirmed in a teaser shared to Instagram Oct. 9.
In addition to playing the lead role in the film, Charli also contributed to the creative process, with the story being “based on an original idea” by her. Aidan Zamiri, who is also set to direct the project, and Bertie Brandes turned the concept into a screenplay.
And Kylie isn’t the only familiar face to join forces with Charli for the film. Alexander Skarsgård, Rachel Sennott, Rosanna Arquette and Kate Berlant have also all signed on. Plus, Rish Shah, Jamie Demetriou, Arielle Dombasle, Hailey Benton Gates, Trew Mullen, Mel Ottenberg, Richard Perez, Isaac Powell, Tish Weinstock and Michael Workéyè have earned parts in the project.
As for what character Kylie will portray in the story? That’s still being kept under wraps.
However, A24 has provided some insight into the plot, with a synopsis noting that it will be about a pop star dealing with “the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut.”
Kylie—who shares kids Stormi, 7, and Aire, 3, with ex Travis Scott—hasn’t publicly expressed an interest in venturing into acting, like big sis Kim Kardashian, aside from her Ocean’s 8 cameo in 2018. However, she has gotten candid about how moving into her late 20s has given her the confidence to experiment more in life.
“I haven’t had a baby in a few years,” she told Elle in 2024. “The first part of my twenties was having children, learning what my personal style was and then losing it—not knowing how to dress, gaining 60 pounds for both pregnancies. It took me a year to feel like myself again.”
And Kylie has also offered a glimpse at the shows she’s been watching as she gears up to appear on the silver screen.
Sharing a photo of her relaxing with a glass of wine while Vampire Diaries played on her TV, she wrote in an Aug. 4 Instagram Story, “Already halfway through season 3.”
