Tom Holland shared that he plans to step away from his acting career as soon as he starts a family, explaining, “When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore.”
Tom Holland hopes to go far from home Hollywood.
In fact, the Spider-Man: No Way Home star revealed that he plans to end his acting career once he starts a family.
“When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore,” Tom shared in an interview with Men’s Health published Jan. 2. “Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth.”
And there are other scenarios in which fans won’t see the Crowded Room actor in front of a camera, too. Tom also got candid about why he chooses not to walk the red carpet with his girlfriend Zendaya—who he’s been dating since 2021—when the event is for a project that she stars in.
“Because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment,” he explained. “And if we go together, it’s about us.”
Of course, that doesn’t mean that they’ll never pose as a couple on the carpet. After all, they’ve previously taken photos at the premieres of movies they worked on together, like 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Plus, the pair are set to join forces again for Christopher Nolan‘s forthcoming project and for Marvel’s fourth installment of the Spider-Man trilogy.
For Tom, being on set with Zendaya has been one of the highlights of his entire career.
“It’s a saving grace,” the 28-year-old admitted on a Dec. 18 episode of the Dish podcast. “It’s just that perfect thing when you’re on set and a director will give you a note that maybe you don’t agree with, or I know that she doesn’t particularly like, and it’s just that, like, familiar glance at each other of like, ‘Can’t wait to talk about that later.’”
And Tom is grateful for more than just his onscreen dynamic with Zendaya. He previously shared that he considers himself “lucky” to navigate his life off screen alongside someone who has experienced his level of fame.
“It’s interesting being in a romantic relationship with someone that is in the same boat as you,” the Bero founder shared on a 2023 episode of Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett‘s Smartless podcast. “You can share your experiences and all that sort of stuff—and that’s worth its weight in gold.”
