Hugh Jackman was spotted attending one of Sutton Foster’s performances in the musical Once Upon a Mattress in Los Angeles, two years after they starred together in a Broadway show.

In a photo, Jackman is seen sitting next to Carol Burnett, who played Foster’s role of Princess Winnifred role in the original 1959 production on Broadway. During the Jan. 4 show, the second-to-last of the touring revival’s Los Angeles residency, the audience applauded for the 91-year-old during the intermission, a witness told the outlet.

Like Burnett, Jackman, 56, and Foster, 49, are both seasoned stage performers. The two have known each other for more than 20 years and have long supported each other’s careers. In late 2021, they became coworkers, starring together in a Broadway revival of The Music Man that ran for about a year until January 2023.

That year was a challenging one for Jackman. In April 2023, the X-Men actor shared he had completed two biopsies to check for possible basal cell carcinoma, years after he underwent skin cancer treatments. The results were, thankfully, negative.

The following September, Jackman shocked fans when he and wife Deborra-Lee Furness announced they had decided to separate after 27 years of marriage. The two share two children Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19.

“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority,” Jackman and Furness said in a statement to People at the time. “We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.”

The actor later allowed his personal life to become a punchline in Deadpool & Wolverine. As Ryan Reynolds‘s character Deadpool introduces Logan in the film, he says, “He’s usually shirtless, but he’s let himself go since the divorce.”

Meanwhile, Sutton underwent a breakup of her own recently. The Younger star filed for divorce from Ted Griffin—with whom she shares daughter Emily, 7—  in October after 10 years of marriage, according to court records reviewed by E! News.
