The 2025 Golden Globes are finally here. Ahead of the Jan. 5 ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hilton, see who did and didn’t earn a nod, including Pamela Anderson, Mike Faist and Kate Winslet.
The 2025 Golden Globe Awards are slowly but surely raising its curtains.
Back in December, Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut announced the nominations with several expected nods for The Bear, Abbott Elementary and Wicked. Emilia Pérez led the pack with 10 nominations, including Best Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy and Selena Gomez‘s Best Performance By a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy.
Meanwhile, The Bear cooked up five nominations, including Best Television Series in a Musical or Comedy, Jeremy Allen White‘s Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series—Musical or Comedy and Ayo Edebiri‘s Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series—Musical or Comedy. Only Murders in the Building and Shogun tied with four nominations.
Although it was clear some projects would earn their spot on the list, some were still surprises. For instance, Squid Game earned a nod for Best Television Series–Drama for season two, which, at the time of the nominations, had not even been released.
As for when we’ll see who takes home the golden statuette? Tune into the 2025 Golden Globes, hosted by Nikki Glaser, live from the Grand Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on CBS and stream it on Paramount+.

Wicked might’ve defied gravity to grab four nominations, including Ariana Grande‘s first-ever for Best Supporting Actress—Motion Picture, but the film’s director didn’t score his own nod.
SURPRISE: Miley Cyrus
The “Flowers” singer earned a Best Original Song nomination for “Beautiful That Way,” her first nod since 2009 for “I Thought I Lost You” in the same category.
Miley’s nomination comes months after she won her first two Grammys nearly 20 years after beginning her music career. Following the win, she questioned the decadeslong wait, asking W Magazine in June, “No shade, but I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and this is my first time actually being taken seriously at the Grammys?”
SNUB: Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor
Challengers earned some major nominations, including Best Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy and Zendaya picked up Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy. But Mike and Josh, who made up the rest of the acclaimed film’s love triangle, were left empty-handed.
SNUB: Saturday Night
Despite featuring a solid cast, including J.K. Simmons and Lamorne Morris, the biographical comedy only earned a nomination for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture–Musical or Comedy for Gabriel LaBelle’s portrayal of Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels.
SURPRISE: Pamela Anderson
The Baywatch alum earned her first-ever Golden Globes nomination for her starring role in The Last Showgirl.
SNUB: Ryan Reynolds
Deadpool & Wolverine might have picked up a nod for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, but Ryan didn’t earn any for his starring role.
SURPRISE: Kate Winslet
The Titanic actress is a double nominee this year with Lee and The Regime. Although neither made major waves with their releases, Kate proved her weight in gold for her best actress nods.
SNUB: Saoirse Ronan
The Ladybird star could have been a double nominee this year for The Outrun and Blitz. Although earning praise for both performances, Saoirse was left off the list.
