Joey King poked fun at the reaction to her bleached eyebrows, admitting she knows the look isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.
For Joey King, it actually is just a phase, Mom.
The Kissing Booth star recently debuted a brand-new beauty look in the form of bleached eyebrows. And, as she hilariously revealed, not everyone has been loving the bold look.
“I dyed my eyebrows like a week ago,” Joey announced in a Jan. 16 TikTok video. “They were like white before and now they just look like the Lorax mustache.”
But despite her resemblance to the Dr. Seuss character, she added, “I kind of love it.”
However, when it came to showing her mom Jamie King, Joey was met with a different reaction.
“Then I saw my mom two days ago and she was like, ‘I just can’t look at you. You look so weird,’” the 25-year-old admitted, before defending herself with, “Guys, I know I look weird. That’s the point.”
She continued, “I was like, ‘Mom, that’s the point. The point is that I’m trying something different. I’m gonna dye them back but just let me have this.’”
And much like her split opinion with her mother, Joey’s fans and friends have had a mixed reaction to the look since she first showed off her brows—or lack thereof—in a Jan. 5 Instagram post.
While some users questioned the choice, a number of fellow Hollywood stars gushed over the look, including Noah Cyrus who wrote on TikTok, “I love this look on u,” and Queer Eye’s Tan France, who added on Joey’s Instagram “You look so damn good!”
Over the years, Joey hasn’t shied away from poking fun at some of her most viral moments—and that includes her infamous Glambot at the People’s Choice Awards in 2019, which saw the 20-year-old spin around before throwing a thumbs up at the camera.
But when some users began to compare her Glambot to Andrew Garfield’s at the 2025 Golden Globes—during which the We Live in Time star fell forward dramatically—Joey clapped back to retain her throne.
“While I appreciate the recent submissions being thrown around for a glambot worse than my first one,” she wrote on her Instagram Story following the award show. “Sorry babes… mine is still the worst.”
