Over the years, Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber—parents to son Jack—have faced rumors about themselves and their relationship, from speculation about his health to the state of their marriage.
Even with an army of Beliebers, Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber have faced their doubters too.
Over the years, the singer—turning 31 March 1—and the model have battled rumors about their life, from their relationship to their social media activity. And most recently, Justin has dealt with drug use speculation.
On Feb. 23, his rep slammed the rumors, telling TMZ gossip about the Grammy winner’s health is “exhausting and pitiful and shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.”
And when Justin unfollowed Hailey on Instagram in January—causing speculation about the state of their marriage—he noted “someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife,” adding “s–t is getting suss out here.”
A sentiment the Rhode skincare mogul echoed.
“Just FYI the stories and constant ‘blind items’ I see on Tik Tok are 100% of the time wrong,” she wrote on Instagram in March 2024. “Made out of thin air…Come from the land of delusion…So I know it may be fun feeding into these stories but just know they’re always false. xx sorry to spoil it.”
Hailey and Justin could probably spend 10,000 hours going through all the rumors about them.
“People have made me feel so bad about my relationship since day one,” she told W Magazine in July. “‘Oh, they’re falling apart. They hate each other. They’re getting divorced.’ It’s like people don’t want to believe that we’re happy. I used to try to act like it hurts less and less. I’ve tried to think that you get used to it at a certain point, that this is what’s going to be said and this is how people are going to be. But I realize that it doesn’t actually ever hurt any less.”
And while they lean on each other—”my favorite thing about being married is honestly the companionship,” Hailey once told Vogue Australia—they still experience their roadblocks like any couple.
“The thing is, marriage is very hard,” she noted to Vogue in 2019. “That is the sentence you should lead with. It’s really effing hard.”
But in sickness—like when Hailey suffered a blood clot to her brain in March 2022 and Justin was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome that June—and in health, they remain by each other’s side.
As she told Harper’s Bazaar in 2022, “There’s a reason they say ‘for better or for worse.’ Like, that’s for real!”
“At the end of the day, like, he’s my best friend, but it still does take a lot of work to make it work,” Hailey continued. “And then I know eventually, when kids come in the picture, that’s going to be a whole other season of navigating how to make that work.”
That time came in August with the birth of their son Jack Blues Bieber.
And with people often speculating whether she was pregnant or not—”That’s happened to me multiple times before…Damn, I can’t be bloated one time?” she once told GQ—Hailey decided not to confirm she and Justin were expecting their first baby until she was six months along.
“I probably could have hid it until the end,” she told W Magazine. “But I didn’t enjoy the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly. I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and it didn’t feel good. I wanted the freedom to go out and live my life.”
Just living their lives is what Justin and Hailey—who’ve continued to protect Jack’s privacy by not sharing any photos of his face—have wanted to do ever since they first wed in 2018 following their whirlwind romance.
“We’re coming from a really genuine place,” the then-22-year-old told Vogue in 2019. “But we’re two young people who are learning as we go. I’m not going to sit here and lie and say it’s all a magical fantasy. It’s always going to be hard. It’s a choice. You don’t feel it every single day. You don’t wake up every day saying, ‘I’m absolutely so in love and you are perfect.’ That’s not what being married is. But there’s something beautiful about it anyway—about wanting to fight for something, commit to building with someone.”
“We’re really young, and that’s a scary aspect,” Hailey continued. “We’re going to change a lot. But we’re committed to growing together and supporting each other in those changes. That’s how I look at it. At the end of the day, too, he’s my best friend. I never get sick of him.”
A then 24-year-old Justin added, “And you’re my baby boo.”

6th Wedding Anniversary
Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber celebrated the milestone in September 2024, three weeks after welcoming their son Jack Blues Bieber.
